Jerusha Sutton is a doula, and birth photographer & videographer based in the Northern Rivers, NSW. She trained as a doula in 2006 and has since worked extensively supporting and capturing births in both London and Sydney.
Jerusha’s work has won various awards and been shown in multiple exhibitions over the last 12 years.
Jerusha is one of the co-creators of Birth Time: the documentary, a feature length documentary released in 2021 about the maternity system in Australia. Birth Time won 24 international film awards and was screened at many film festivals internationally. Jerusha’s credits for the film include director of photography, editor and producer.
Capturing and supporting births is her deep passion and hence the seed of creating a documentary for, and about birthing women was planted long ago.
Jerusha is a proud volunteer member of Heartfelt, an organisation that gives the gift of photographic memories to families experiencing stillbirth, with premature babies or critically ill children.
Maybe most importantly, she is mother to two young children, born at home.
